Plan your 2025 following the moon and some native Hawaiian species pili to our kūpuna in Kāʻana, Puna, Hawaiʻi. These plants, animals, and insects arrived here generations before kānaka; their ancestors carried here by the makani, moana, or manu. The exact location of Kāʻana has been lost to time, but we know that it was a beautiful rest stop for travelers between Keaʻau and ʻŌlaʻa.

Today, we visit places like Kāʻana to collect for ceremony, medicine, lei, and more. We mālama and mahalo these spaces of respite that remain mostly native; contributing to Hawaiʻi’s beauty, still in balance, the way it has been for millennia.
